Our Story & Purpose
When Fady Chamoun arrived in the US from Lebanon in 1972 to attend the University of Michigan, he had big dreams of opening a restaurant featuring healthy Lebanese fare. In 1994, his dream became a reality, and Fady and his wife Sally opened the first Aladdin’s Eatery in Lakewood, Ohio. Inspired by the belief that “food is a philosophy” and his familial roots, Fady made educating his guests about the restaurant’s unique cuisine his foremost passion and delivered the highest-quality service: staple of Lebanese hospitality.

OUR UNIQUE VALUE PROPOSITION
Aladdin’s upholds the highest standard of health and culinary heritage that comes with traditional Lebanese cuisine, with a unique ability to foster human connection through our commitment to community, inclusion, and warmth with every guest touchpoint.
Health
Aladdin’s has been health conscious since day one. Not because we have to, but because we value health. We educate our guests about the health benefits of Lebanese food and the advantages of choosing a health-conscious option because we care about their well-being.
Heritage
Lebanese heritage and family are behind not only each brand, but each and every individual meal. Those who are the Lebanese themselves, or feel connected to their own culture, will find the comfort in the tradition associated with the Aladdin’s classic cuisine.
Human Connection
People crave connection. By gathering people around a table to share a meal together, we can make them feel something. The modern restaurant industry can feel transactional-but not at Aladdin’s.
Health & Heritage
Lebanese food is implicitly healthy, but some restaurants put unhealthy spins on healthy staples in an attempt to “Americanize” their menu and offer more traditional, less health-conscious American options. Aladdin’s does not depart from health.
In that same vein, Aladdin’s does not stray too far from the path when it comes to culinary heritage. We are steadfast in our ingredients and flavor profile, ensuring any and every guest experiences traditional Lebanese cuisine.
Aladdin’s balances all of this while being welcoming to all cultures. We do not alienate or intimidate people who are new to the dishes. Instead, Aladdin’s has a unique ability to make guests feel welcome and included. All their guest touchpoints-whether going into a restaurant, receiving a takeout order, or interacting with the brand on social media-exude a certain feeling of “warmth.”
We know who we are and stay true to our values, but we are not unapproachable or elite. They are proud but not standoffish. The Aladdin’s brand sits at an incredibly powerful intersection that allows them to spread the deliciousness and healthiness of their food to new people, where their opportunities to expand become truly limitless.
Human Connection
At the heart of Aladdin’s is a deep-rooted belief that food is more than just nourishment; it’s a way of bringing people together.
Every meal served is a gesture of hospitality, a tradition drawn from Lebanese culture where sharing food is a fundamental expression of love, care, and welcome.
Our guests are treated like family. and are welcomed with the warmth that makes returning to Aladdin’s feel like coming home.
While Aladdin’s remains firmly rooted in its Lebanese culinary heritage, we bridge cultural gaps by making traditional dishes accessible and inviting to all. There’s no sense of exclusivity or pressure to “understand” the food beforehand.
Whether someone grew up eating hummus and tabouli or is encountering them for the first time, they’re welcomed with equal warmth and respect. Aladdin’s doesn’t change to fit in; instead, we create space for others to come in and connect.
